SEP 10, 2007 Moonstone Housing Co-operative in St. Catharines, Ontario suffered a devastating fire on September 7. One of three buildings was engulfed in flames and will need to be demolished. The other two suffered smoke and water damage but can be repaired. Almost 40 families are homeless. Many lost everything.
Co-op members need furniture, household items, clothing for adults and children, toys, and non-perishable food items.
In St. Catharines, donations for co-op members are being collected by the Salvation Army, 400 Niagara Street, St. Catharines
In the Hamilton area, Stoneworth Housing Co-operative is collecting donations at 2 Elite Drive, Hamilton until Friday, September 14 at 11:30 am and then transport the collected items to the Salvation Army in St. Catharines.
Cash donations to the Roehampton Fire Fund GL Number 2794 can be made at any Meridian Credit Union Branch.
